About Doula Crystal

Crystal began her work with families in 2004 as a professional nanny to high-level executives and lawyers in Los Angeles. In 2009 she met her husband and moved to San Diego to be with him. Once settled she opted to stay-home and offer in-home nanny-share childcare. Fast forward to 2011, Crystal had to have an unexpected cesarean birth due to breach presentation this event sparked a whole new passion, informed birth. Her VBAC(vaginal birth after ceasarean) in 2013 with a doula present solidified her desire to become a birth and postpartum doula. Crystal began her career as a professional doula in 2014 by attending a toLabor workshop taught by Thérèse Hak-Kuhn, the late founder. Since then she has attended numerous births and supported many wonderful families transition into their new dynamic. Crystal has continued her education, and has expanded her birth work as she is also currently working as a midwife assistant.
